[SBS Entertainment News | Reporter Kang Kyung-yoon] MONSTA X (Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M) successfully wrapped up their long-awaited comeback activities as a complete group for the first time in five years.
On September 14, the group concluded promotions for their new mini-album THE X with their final stage on SBS Inkigayo. Marking the end of their military hiatus, all six members returned to music shows, proving their presence with the title track N the Front and reaffirming their status as a group known for “performances you can trust and enjoy.”
This comeback also marked a symbolic milestone for MONSTA X’s 10th anniversary. With Joohoney and I.M participating in songwriting, the pre-release track Do What I Want set the tone, followed by the official release of THE X on September 1, which further highlighted the group’s identity. Members Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M contributed to the album’s production, showcasing MONSTA X’s strength as a self-producing group.
In the title track N the Front, the vocal and rap lines boldly crossed positions, demonstrating a wide musical spectrum. Hyungwon also released a special remix single, N the Front (H.ONE Remix), under his DJ persona H.ONE, adding extra excitement.
Beyond music shows, the members actively engaged in various entertainment activities. Shownu solidified his presence as a fixed MC on the web variety show No Pogi, while the group appeared on National Sparkling Tour, Limousine Service, Bapsahyo, Jipdaeseong, Moving Company! Risabae, and Sangsu-dong Studio, showing both musical prowess and wit. Joohoney, who displayed his comedic side through the group’s own content Mon Eat Go, has also been confirmed as the solo MC for the upcoming web variety Good Deed Center – Simcheong, set to premiere in October.
The album recorded MONSTA X’s highest-ever first-week sales, proving the group’s enduring momentum and legacy in their 10th year. With teamwork and powerful performances shining brighter than ever, expectations for MONSTA X’s next chapter continue to rise.
