Agust D marks his third solo music video to reach the milestone.
BTS member Suga has added another solo music video to the 100-million-view club.
According to BIGHIT MUSIC, the music video for Haegeum, the title track of Suga’s first official solo album D-Day released in April 2023 under the name Agust D, surpassed 100 million views on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel at around 5:07 a.m. on September 14.
This achievement makes Haegeum the third Agust D music video to exceed 100 million views, following the title tracks Agust D from his mixtape of the same name and Daechwita from his second mixtape D-2.
Haegeum is a hip-hop track that incorporates the sound of the traditional Korean instrument haegeum, while also playing on the dual meaning of “haegeum” as both the instrument (奚琴) and “lifting a ban” (解禁), symbolizing the theme of freedom. The music video stands out with its noir film-like style, compelling storyline, and tension-filled elements, highlighted by the dramatic clash and twist between the characters “Being” and “Exister.”
D-Day is the final installment in the Agust D trilogy, following Agust D and D-2. With freedom as its central theme, Suga participated in writing, composing, and producing all tracks, as well as leading the overall concept and direction of the album. Upon release, D-Day debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (dated May 6, 2023), solidifying Agust D’s distinct musical identity.
