[Seoul = Sports Chosun | Reporter Jeong Bit] K-pop group BIGBANG is set to perform at the United States’ largest music festival, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (“Coachella”).
According to the 2026 lineup announced by Coachella on September 16 (local time), BIGBANG will perform on April 12 and 19. Held annually in Indio, California, Coachella began in 1999 and attracts over 200,000 visitors each year, making it one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals.
Next year also marks BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary, raising global fans’ anticipation. G-Dragon recently commented on YouTube, “There’s so much to draw for the 20th anniversary. If you keep drawing, it becomes a picture.” During a solo concert in May in Goyang, he added, “Don’t I have my brothers? Next year, we turn 20. When you turn 20, you have a coming-of-age ceremony. We’ll make it very sexy. A sexy coming-of-age ceremony is creepy, but we’re planning it.”
BIGBANG had originally planned a global comeback at Coachella in 2020, but the festival was canceled due to COVID-19. This upcoming performance marks their first Coachella stage in six years, making it particularly meaningful.
Other artists on next year’s Coachella lineup include SHINee’s Taemin and HYBE’s global girl group CATZ EYE.
